Happy Trees

Here is another cute card I made this week.  I am not a big fan of putting buttons on my cards, just because of the mailing issue.  I love the look of them, but choose not to make them that way myself.  So I made my own buttons out of paper.

(Can someone please tell me why I still have buttons in my stash and refuse to get rid of them?)

I even used a scrap of patterned paper that I have had for close to 10 years.  It's embarrassing to admit I've had stash for that long, but then you all probably know what I am talking about.  Like I said before, if it makes it back into my craft room, it is going to get used!

(I can use the buttons on my fabric crafts.  Riiiiight.  So that's why I am keeping them!)

The buttons are made with only one layer of paper.  I could have made them thicker, but then that would have defeated the purpose of not using real buttons.  The center button is popped up on dimensionals, you know, for a little dimension.  ; )

And because the postman just now, as I am writing this, delivered my first order of Washi tape (from Pick Your Plum - if you haven't checked out PYP, you must!), I had to make another card using my new tape.

I found out that you can't stamp on Washi tape, so I had to color in the bottom of the trunks with a Copic marker.  It took several coats to get a solid image instead of little beads of ink.

These Spring-y cards are the perfect indication of the weather we are to be having for the next week.  My tulips are starting to come up, and it is supposed to warm up to the 70's by Monday.  Yea for Spring!!!

Hope you have a great weekend.  My husband informed me (somewhat jokingly) that I am to have his new office painted by Monday.  A small price to pay for my big craft room!

OLW and Three Little Pigs

I don't even want to think how long it's been since I've played along with One Layer Wednesday.  I just know that it has been way too long!

I was just going to post my 3 pig cards, but after a long night battling insomnia, I came down to my craft room and saw that the OLW challenge had been posted.  So I made a card for it and took pictures of all my cards to post.

Here is my card for OLW 82 this week...to use a swirl on your card.

Is it ok that I have 118 swirls?  I drew the individual swirls  because it would have taken way too long to mask off the stamp for each one.  I'm lazy like that.

Supplies used:
Stamps - Inkadinkado swirls and Stampabilities sentiment
Paper - GKD PL white
Ink - Memento Rose Bud, Tangelo, Pear Tart, Bahama Blue, Lilac Posies, Tuxedo black
Accessories - matching markers

And here are my pig cards.  I'm not quite sure why I made three pig cards, I guess I'm just trying to use up some of my stamps I've had forever.  :-)

Stinkin' cute!

This bacon looks like it got fried in the sun!

My favorite.  Love this little guy!

The first two pig cards use images and sentiments by Hambo Stamps, and are colored with Copics.  The third card has image by SU! and sentiment by Hambo.

And that's not all!  I have more cards to post, but they will just have to wait.

Happy Wednesday!

Okay, Better, Best

I got the itch to stamp last night.

Funny what touching all of your stash does to your creativity.

This one turned out just okay for me.  The colors didn't blend very well, and the shading is very uneven.  (I'm allowed to be critical because the other two turned out much better.)

Much better.  I like the colors on this one.

The best!  I love the rich colors, and I think the smaller linear sentiment is perfect for the layout of the flowers.  The sentiments compete with the flowers on the other two.

I will be back with even more cards.  Could this mean I am back to stamping?

Supplies Used:
Stamps - SU Button Buddies, PTI Signature Greetings, Everyday Button Bits
Paper - GKD PL white
Ink - Memento Angel Pink/Rose Bud/Dandelion; Cantaloupe/Tangelo/SU Choc chip; Lilac Posies/Grape Jelly/Dandelion

Hope you are having a crafty weekend!
