Thumped Fall Leaves

For this card, I used a layout that I cased from Susan (aka LateBlossom).  Here is her original card.  I changed it up a little with the placement of the stamps and sentiment, and I used different colored inks on my leaves.

Thumping is a great way to give leaves a changing colors/fall look. To do this, I first inked them with the lightest color ink, then thumped them with different colored markers, using different color combinations for each leaf.

If you are looking for a great but often forgotten technique to try, get out your markers and start thumping away!

Supplies used;
Stamps - PTI Leaf Prints, Hero Arts Classic Messages
Paper - PTI
Ink - Memento Pear Tart, Rhubarb Stalk
Accessories - Various Memento markers

Hope you're able to enjoy the fall weather this weekend!

Back in the Saddle

I finally got to stamp today!  Yea!  Things were a little crazy and I didn't feel much like stamping after Drennen's accident last week, and then we took a mini vacation to Florida for a few days and just got home last night.  I was aching to try some of my new goodies from SU! so I used two of the new core colors on this card that I made for Susan's OLW challenge this week to use a flourish.

This picture does not do these colors justice.  Cherry cobbler is not as blue as it looks in the picture, and daffodil delight is more of a golden yellow.  They are much more vibrant IRL.

You probably can't tell by the picture, but I embossed the flowers and sentiment.  You'll just have to take my word for it when I say this card is much prettier when you hold it in your own two hands.  It is a 4 1/4" square card.

Supplies used:
Stamps - Baroque motifs, Inkadinkado sentiment
Paper - Daffodil delight
Ink - Daffodil delight, cherry cobbler, versamark
Accessories - clear EP, heat gun, half pearls

Thanks, Susan, for providing me with a challenge that was easy enough to get me back in the saddle!

Thank Ewe!

Here is a card I made for the Splitcoast CAS53 challenge.  It is an retro candy inspiration challenge, and this is what I used for my inspiration http://candy-crate.stores.yahoo.net/cuwumba1.html  After looking at all that candy, I really want to eat some right now!  Thank goodness for chocolate fudge P90X protein bars!  heehee!

I used the colors from the candy wrapper for the card, and I think the scallop trim frame looks like the candy.  Mmmm...I can taste the caramel and chocolate right now!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Pun Fun
Paper - GKD white, Real Red, T. Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry
Ink - Memento tuxedo black
Accessories - CB D'vine Swirl folder and machine, SU scallop trim border and corner punches, ribbon, Copics, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
